Brandon Routh joins Chuck

It's neither a bird nor a plane, but a welcome piece of casting news for one of DoG's favourite shows...

EW have the scoop that former (and, we hope, future) Superman Brandon Routh is to join the cast of NBC's Chuck. Routh will play a character called Shaw, a 'mysterious new spy' who takes over Operation Bartwoski and becomes a guru to Chuck (Zachary Levi)- as well as a potential love-rival where Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski) is concerned.

Routh has recently finished shooting Kevin Munroe's Dead Of Night, playing one of Italy's most popular comic-book characters, ultra-cool sleuth Dylan Dog.
