True Blood gets third season
Simon Brew
Alan Ball’s TV version of True Blood will be returning for another series in 2010…

Given that this year we're seen cracking shows such as Pushing Daisies and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles fail to get a third season, it's a relief to report on a strong piece of television that will be coming back for a third run.
True Blood, whose second season is currently running in the US and first is now showing in the UK, will get a third series, which is set to broadcast next summer. HBO has confirmed the renewal, although it's little surprise, given how ratings for True Blood continue to climb. Not since The Sopranos has HBO had such a hit on its hands.
The third season will be in production before the end of the year, although there's still a good chunk of season two to enjoy before then...
