FX starts screening the marvellous True Blood in the UK, starting at 10pm tonight...
Published on Jul 17, 2009
It’s taken a while, but HBO’s acclaimed True Blood is making its UK broadcast debut tonight. The show is screening on FX at 10pm, and if you’ve not met it before, it’s based on The Southern Vampire Mysteries novels, written by Charlaine Harris, and it’s fair to say that it’s not family viewing. If that 10pm broadcast time hadn’t already given you a clue…!
The man behind the television adaptation is Alan Ball, the Oscar-winning screenwriter of American Beauty, who also gave the world Six Feet Under. And the show has picked up much acclaim since its debut, with a second season now broadcasting on US TV, and a third set to go into production before the year is out.
The first season runs to twelve episodes, and you can catch our season one DVD reviews, in time with the UK broadcast, from the start of next week.
