Dollhouse gets a second season
Simon Brew
Joss Whedon’s latest television adventure will be coming back for a second series after all…
Published on May 18, 2009
Truthfully, we were sceptical this one was going to happen given the up and down nature of its maiden season, yet Joss Whedon's Dollhouse has done enough to get a second season order from Fox.
The show had, as with Fox's other science fiction shows, been struggling in the ratings, and few would have been surprised if it had gone the same way as Whedon's earlier television project, Firefly. However, a fresh order for 13 more episodes has been placed, and Fox will be broadcasting them on Friday nights towards the end of the year.
It's got a challenge on its hands to get a third season run, we suspect, but we'll happily accept the news of a fresh series commission with open arms anyway...
