ABC greenlights new sci-fi show Flash Forward

Could Flash Forward be the natural successor to Lost? ABC is certainly hoping so…
Published on May 11, 2009
Given that Lost is due to come to an end next year, ABC is likely to have a hole in its schedule for a science fiction show, and the greenlighting of Flash Forward for a 13-season run could well be with a natural successor to the show in mind.
Flash Forward has been penned by David S Goyer (who penned Batman Begins, and directed the less impressive The Unborn) and Brannon Braga (24, Star Trek), and will star Joseph Fiennes. According to The Hollywood Report, the show is about a phenomenon where everybody on the planet blacks out for 2 minutes and 17 seconds, and in that time has visions of something six months ahead. It's from the book by Robert J Sawyer.
A pilot episode has been produced, and ABC had begun to trail Flash Forward during Lost episodes. You can see the promo right here, and the show is expected to start broadcasting in the winter. Should be interesting...
