Stargate: another spin-off coming
Simon Brew
A third TV series is in the works under the Stargate banner. And it could well be set a little closer to home...

Stargate SG-1 is drawing to a close after ten seasons. The first spin-off, Atlantis, is heading into series four. And now, with rumours about further films on the horizon, a brand new Stargate TV show has now been confirmed. Odd, considering the film is all spawned from wasn't anything too special.
By all accounts, this new spin-off - in contrast to the way Atlantis span out of SG-1 - will be separate from the existing two shows, with entirely brand new characters. Naturally, three series in when the ratings are in the shit they'll dig out some old faces, but that's just the Law Of The American TV Franchise.
In spite of the fact that no American television network has yet optioned the show, and in spite of the fact that it appears not to have been written yet, we do know that the plan is to set the new Stargate in the present day.
More news as and when we get it...

None of these people are set to be in the new series. Allegedly.
