The Apprentice gets return date

Simon Brew

Sir Alan Sugar is priming his pointing finger as the UK version of The Apprentice returns next week…

Published on Mar 18, 2009

I'll happily accept that of the shows we talk about at Den Of Geek, The Apprentice is on the outskirts. But, over the years, it's a show I got so interested in - before, granted, it went more down the screeching banshee route as opposed to an interesting business programme - that I've been writing about it here for a couple of years. And I suspect I'll be doing so again.

And while Donald Trump's latest Celebrity Apprentice over in the States has thus far been a complete snorefest (and it really has), I have higher hopes for the return of Sralan Sugar in the UK version.

It comes back to our screens on Wednesday 25th March - that's a week today - with 15 more candidates heading into the firing line. It would have been 16, but apparently someone has already left the show before filming began. They "bottled it", according to Sralan. Saw the bunch of reprobates they'd have to live with for three months seems more likely to us. Ho hum.

Also heading our way is a DVD of the best moments of series 1-4 of The Apprentice. That's going on sale from 20th April, and we'll have our review in due course.

The show will be on BBC One next Wednesday, at 9pm. I'll be watching. Will any of you?

Get in. I'll be there too. The jewel in BBC's televisual crown returns. That picture above is ace. Margaret always cracks me up.

I'll probably watch it too. (Assuming there's nothing I'd rather see on the other side.) I've never seen Sir Allen's name written that way, by the way. Srallen. Sounds like a star-wars cross-over.
