Doctor Who: see 2 minutes from The Next Doctor here
Simon Brew
Want to see the opening of this year’s Doctor Who Christmas special? Then you’re in the right place…
Last Friday, viewers of the BBC’s Children In Need appeal were treated to no new revelation about the casting of David Tennant’s replacement in Doctor Who, but instead a two minute sneak peak of this year’s Christmas special, The Next Doctor. Co-starring David Morrissey, the clip showed the opening to the episode, as the Tardis lands in Victorian times at Christmas. It doesn’t take long for trouble to attract the Doctor’s attention, nor does it take long for a corny “Doctor Who?” line to be stuck in there.
More interestingly, it doesn’t take that long either for David Morrissey to turn up as the Doctor as well, with the clip ending with the pair of them pointing their sonic screwdrivers at the wall.
We’ve got the clip below (along with the Fearne Cotton intro and outro – sorry about that), and then you can see The Next Doctor on Christmas Day, no doubt around the usual 7pm slot…

Re: Doctor Who: see 2 minutes from The Next Doctor hereI dont think that the David Morrissey "Doctor" is a David Tennents replacement as the actual Doctor. He is far to hammy and over the top, plus his clothes look like a period version of what DT wears as the Doctor.
Plus they are not going to announce the replacement doctor a good 18 months before he will be on TV.
(Please let these be true because I didn't like DM's "Doctor")
Re: Doctor Who: see 2 minutes from The Next Doctor hereThe Beeb have gone too far with the PC card this time. Not only is the new companion black (2 out of 4!), but there are lots of non-white people milling about in Victorian England. There is being inclusive, and there is being plain stupid. This is an exmaple of the second. And this clip smacks of RTD. I can't wait til he's gone!

Re: Doctor Who: see 2 minutes from The Next Doctor hereAs other's have pointed out elsewhere, it's more likely that this story is an adaption of Big Finish's "The One Doctor" where a con man poses as the Doctor.
But on the other hand, I've heard far worse choices for the new doc than David Morrissey.
Oh, and xtrmntr - I'd have thought most people have better things to discuss about this teaser than playing "spot the non-white face."
Or was it the fact that the show portraying Victorian England as having a couple of black folk milling about pulled you out of the gritty realism of the time-traveling alien battling monsters?
