Doctor Who: The Next Doctor 2-minute teaser coming

A special Doctor Who treat awaits those who tune into BBC Children In Need...

There's been quite a lot of speculation, not least from us, about what exactly the BBC has planned for Children In Need this year where Doctor Who is concerned. Would it be the seven Doctors? What about the Doctor Who and Torchwood crossover? While both of those still are up in the air, there is still one definite we do know.

And that's that as part of the Children In Need telethon on Friday 14th November, the BBC will be screening the first two minutes of this year's Doctor Who Christmas special, The Next Doctor. Both David Tennant and David Morrissey are said to appear in the opening clip.

The Next Doctor will be broadcasting on Christmas Day, although at what time hasn't yet been confirmed.

How about 2 minutes featuring David Morrisey and Velile Tshabalala showing how the (next) Doctor and Rosita come to land on Earth Christmas 1851 - I guess a revamped title sequence, theme music and Tardis interior would be just a little too much to ask for???

Knowing that our Doctor Who fix is going to be strung out over the next year has me anticipating this special more than usual. Especially because they're toying with our expectations by introducing another Doctor. Is it going to set up some new big crisis that the next doctor will have already faced but is yet to come for dear old David T. I hope so but RTD isn't that clever when it comes to plotting out series arcs so I doubt it.
