Michelle Rodriguez back in Lost season 5?
Simon Brew
Remember that day when you celebrated the demise of Ana Lucia in Lost? That may have been a bit hasty...
American television is getting quite fond of bringing back characters that were seemingly killed before our very eyes. 24 is at it early next year, and Lost is getting in on the act, too.
Lost, to be fair, is the kind of time shifting show that can get away with this kind of thing, but even so, the return of Michelle Rodriguez as Ana Lucia is hardly the kind of move to ignite celebrations. Rodriguez’s character appeared, and was killed, in season two of the show, and few mourned Ana Lucia’s passing, given that she just seemed an irritant designed to prolong the narrative for a little bit longer. It didn't help that Rodriguez herself, who sprung to prominence in the movie Girlfight, was herself embroiled in a healthy dose of trouble at the time, which is believed to have accelerated her boot from the show.
The wise money is on her now appearing in a flashback episode of the show, as not even Lost would surely have the gall to bring her completely back from the dead. Would it?
Rodriguez is down to appear in one of the early episodes of the series, which will start broadcasting early in 2009. She’ll also pop up at the end of ’09 in James Cameron’s Avatar.
