Two new posters arrive for James Gunn's Super
Shut up, crime! James Gunn’s potentially hilarious comedy, Super, gets two new posters, which you can see within…
The first trailer for James Gunn’s forthcoming Super immediately captured our imagination when it appeared last week, relating a Kick-Ass-style premise (an inept, DIY superhero, played in this instance by Rainn Wilson, attempts to fight crime) with some of the funniest scenes we’ve seen in a trailer all year.
Featuring superb, maniacal supporting performances from Ellen Page and Kevin Bacon, the Super promo also introduced what could well be the catchphrase of the year, too (“Shut up, crime!”).
It’s fair to say, then, that the Super went from a film we’d heard of and were intrigued by, to one we’re desperate to watch in the space of approximately two minutes.
The new posters, which you can see to the left of these words, have the wilfully half-assed, handmade look of the film’s endearingly useless heroes, while getting across its humble, indie roots at the same time.
Super’s due out on 1 April in the US, with a UK release yet to be announced. We just hope the trailer generated enough fuss to encourage distributors to bring the movie over to this side of the pond sooner rather than later.
