Big Finish audio story The Light at the End will feature multiple Doctors and a number of old friends...

While details of the BBC's TV plans to mark Doctor Who's 50th anniversary are still largely under wraps, Big Finish has confirmed its audio adventure celebration.

Tom Baker, Peter Davison, Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy and Paul McGann are all set to voice their Doctors in Doctor Who: The Light at the End, a 100-minute story that will see multiple Doctors facing "imminent destruction", to be released in November.

Here's what writer/director Nicholas Briggs had to say:

“We wanted to do a proper, fully-fledged multi-Doctor story for this very special occasion, and it’s wonderful that all the surviving Doctors threw themselves behind the project so enthusiastically. That’s not to say the first three Doctors don’t appear – we wanted to pay homage to the whole history of the classic series.” All the surviving Doctors you say Briggs? That'll do us nicely.

Geoffrey Beevers has also been confirmed as returning to voice the Master, alongside the Doctor's regular companions Louise Jameson (Leela), Sarah Sutton (Nyssa), Nicola Bryant (Peri), Sophie Aldred (Ace) and India Fisher (Charley Pollard). Producer David Richardson has also teased "...a number of appearances from some much-cherished old friends from the TV series."

This is exactly the news I've been hoping for. Big Finish do some great work and they deserve to be part of the anniversary celebrations especially after they made the effort for the 40th anniversary that the BBC never bothered with.

Charley's back? Yay! But... please don't ruin her exit(s)... Please...

The BBC sort of bothered. BBC online did Scream of the Shalka for the 40th.

Surely Eccleston won't be back, will he?

Why isn't David on that list if ALL surviving doctor's are back?

To be fair I think 'all' of the Doctors meant all of the 'classic' Doctors

Big Finish Audio don't have the license to produce 9th, 10th and 11th Doctor stories. BBC Audio handle all the latest Doctor (post 2005) adventures.

For the 40th Anniversary the BBC announced the first new TV series in 16 years.

Charley's back? Hooray! I'd like to see Lucie back if we could manage that too. And maybe Frobisher and Evelyn? :D Also yes, glad to see BF roll out the carpet as they so often do! A proper multi doctor story eh, ABOUT TIME LADS!

Why isn't Jamie on the list, He was a superb companion, brave and loyal and was in a record number of episodes....the Dr didn't just have female companions....
