New image reveals Quicksilver in X-Men: Days Of Future Past

Want to see what Quicksilver will look like in this year's X-Men: Days Of Future Past? Then look no further...

This May's Days Of Future Past promises to bring us a veritable banquet of X-Men characters, with Bryan Singer's sequel telling a potentially complicated story straddling two separate timelines. And among the familiar returning faces, with the original trilogy's Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), Storm (Halle Berry), and Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart) meeting up with X-Men: First Class's Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) and Beast (Nicholas Hoult), there are a few new characters, too.

One of them is Quicksilver, who's a longstanding member of X-Men lore (he first appeared in the fourth issue of The X-Men way back in 1964) but hasn't yet appeared on the silver screen. All that will change this summer, when Evan Peters, who previously appeared in 2010's Kick-Ass and TV's American Horror Story, becomes the first actor to take on the role.

In an odd rights ownership twist, Quicksilver will also appear in Marvel's Avengers: The Age Of Ultron next year, where he'll be played (coincidentally enough) by another Kick-Ass actor: Aaron Taylor-Johnson.

Evans beats Taylor-Johnson's incarnation to the screen by almost exactly a year, though, and there's been much speculation over what he'll look like. Thanks to the power of the internet, we've been given our first look in what appears to be an official set picture.

Quicksilver's there at the back, just behind Wolverine, Magneto (a returning Michael Fassbender) and Xavier (James McAvoy's incarnation, who's standing up, weirdly). Why is it snowing indoors? We're guessing Storm's the culprit.

As a Brucey bonus, Entertainment Weekly has another new image, this one showing Wolverine lying on a table and Beast hanging upside down in what appears to be the X-Mansion.

By the expression on their faces, we're guessing they weren't expecting the camera's flash to be so bright.

X-Men: Days Of Future Past is out in UK cinemas on the 22nd May.

Maybe Xavier had successful back surgery so he's still walking when he turns into Patrick Stewart so he can meet Jean Grey a la X-Men: The Last Stand?

Not only is Prof X standing up, it also seems to be snowing indoors?

Someone told me that in the comics Xavier built robotic legs to help him but then they eventually broke too.

Is it a table or a rug? Either way, HURRY UP MAY!

Because he's called quicksilver doesn't mean he has to wear an all silver getup.

I don't even want to consider what Logan and Beats have been caught doing there.......

Did he have that stache though?

Wow, that's a literal outfit for Q.S. , can't imagine that's going to go down too well round these parts...

I reckon Magneto's steering Xavier with metal leg braces like a crazy R.C. biped!

I read "Quicksilver" in the headline. My brain thought "Silver Surfer". Cue disappointment.

Storm is unlikely to be responsible for the snow, since "old" Storm is not going back in time, and a "younger" Storm hasn't been mentioned at all yet.

Xavier is shown to be upright in a few different images released from the movie. For this scene, I believe that Xavier has "possessed" the mind of one of the people who work at Magneto's prison so we can break him out from the inside. I'm not sure how to explain his other upright appearances though.

Still waiting for Xavier's flying yellow wheel chair to show up in the films! :)

I am kind of wishing they didn't say it was in continuity with the first trilogy. That way it wouldn't be riddled with continuity issues and we could ignore all the crap that happened before like Toad taking out 3 of the strongest X Men, Jeans stupid death and all of Last Stand.

Maybe xavier is standing up because he's Mystique? Would fail a bit as a disguise if she starts walking around as him though! Who's that chap standing behind Quicksilver?

That's not snow, it's the photographer spitting out his drink, in surprise at the terrible tinfoil jacket.

How can Storm be involved with this snow, when this is a 'PAST' scene and storm is from in the future?
