Confirmed: Hugh Jackman will be back as Wolverine again in Bryan Singer's X-Men: Days Of Future Past

Last week, it was revealed by Bryan Singer that both Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart were set to return to the X-Men franchise in the forthcoming X-Men: Days Of Future Past. The X-Men: First Class follow-up is being directed by Bryan Singer, and the rumour mill also sprung up reports that Hugh Jackman was set to return too. Turns out that rumour was true, and has now been confirmed by the actor himself.

Chatting to MTV, Jackman confirmed that "yes, I've been talking with Bryan about it". He went on, saying "I did a very small cameo [in X-Men: First Class]. I said as long as it's no longer than three hours [of work] like last time..."

We're guessing that last part was a joke, though, as Jackman went on to say "I still have not seen the script, so we're in discussions about [how big his role will be this time].. I think things are a little bit in flux and this is my generalised way of saying I'm not going to tell you!".

X-Men: Days Of Future Past is set for release in July 2014. You can read the full piece at MTV, here.

X-men without Wolverine is like Wolverine without Hugh Jackman (imagine if MI:2 hadn't overun and Dougray Scott was free to Wolverine, where would we be today?!)

I wouldn't mind a smaller role for Wolverine so we can get to know the other characters but certainly a lot more than First Class.

Hugh Jackman's cameo in First Class was hilarious. I had no idea it was coming. At first I was like :0 and then I was like XD (sorry for the typical web-speak cliches)

Since Wolverine is on the cover of XMen #141 with Kitty Pride in a story named Days of Future Past, whose story focuses on Kitty Pride with Wolverine always taking a caretaker role in regards to Kitty, Ill say it's safe to say Hugh will be a big figure in this movie. Also Wolverine is again featured on the cover of #142 being blasted on by a Sential..

With Jackman and Patrick Stewart appearing this could be a good oppurtunity to ret-con Origins out of the timeline. They probably won't but fingers are crossed anyway.

Says a lot that only 5 films in so far, they're gonna have to ret-con!
