Remember when Megan Fox departed the Transformers franchise ahead of Dark Of The Moon? The latest report suggests that Steven Spielberg might just have fired her…

As Transformers: Dark Of The Moon prepares for its global roll-out over the coming weeks, premiere time has rolled around. And ahead of it, director Michael Bay has revealed just why Megan Fox wasn't involved in the movie.

You might remember that when it was revealed that Fox wasn't to reprise her role in Transformers: Dark Of The Moon, the story was that it was her choice, and that she was heading off to do other projects. The story that's now been put forward by Michael Bay, however, is just a little different.

"You know the Hitler thing... Steven [Spielberg] said, fire her right now," he revealed.

The Hitler thing, you may recall, was when Fox compared Bay to him in a magazine interview. Bay claims not to have been bothered by the comment, but Spielberg, executive producer on the Transformers movies, was less happy, and made the above comment. Whether that was for definite what led to Fox's removal from the film is unclear.

Fox was replaced in Transformers: Dark Of The Moon by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. And the film is released in the UK on 29th June.
