It’s definite: Transformers 4 will not be starring Shia LaBeouf, as the actor confirms that Transformers: Dark Of The Moon is his last contribution to the franchise…

With the third Transformers movie, Dark Of The Moon, heading into cinemas in just a few weeks' time, Shia LaBeouf has given a fresh interview to MTV in which he confirms that he'll be leaving the franchise once this movie is done.

He told MTV, "I'm not coming back to do another one. I don't think Mike [that's Michael Bay] will either. It still is a hot property, I think, especially coming out of the third one. So, I imagine they'll reboot it at some point with someone else."

This is pretty much in line with what's been expected all along, with both LaBeouf and Bay suggesting in the past that they wouldn't come back for a Transformers 4. There's little doubt that the franchise will continue beyond them, just with different personnel on board.

LaBeouf did go on to say, "['Dark of the Moon'] is the best movie we've made. I'm serious. It's not a joke. I'm dead honest, man. I get myself in trouble all the time, but this is our best installment. It's our best movie."

About that. Given that it's on more than one occasion that LaBeouf has criticised his movies once he's finished having to sell them, we can't help but feel that we won't get the actor's genuine feelings on Transformers: Dark Of The Moon for some time yet. If it's all the same with Shia, we might just go and make our own mind up.

Transformers: Dark Of The Moon arrives in the UK on 29th June.
