New trailer for Total Recall

Total Recall

Colin Farrell steps into the shoes of Arnold Schwarzenegger in the new Total Recall. Here’s the latest trailer for it…

We remain cautiously optimistic about the upcoming fresh take on Total Recall. Based on the Philip K Dick story We Can Remember It For You Wholesale, director Len Wiseman’s film has a lot of the original source material to explore that Paul Verhoeven’s 1990 Arnold Schwarzenegger vehicle didn’t. And we say that as fans of the earlier movie.

So will the 2012 Total Recall measure up? Good question. What we do know is that we’ve got a new, full trailer to take a look at. It’s got a lot of Colin Farrell in it, too, and gives a flavour as to what to expect. The movie itself arrives in August. We’re looking forward to it…

I'm not sure I need to see this now, as the trailer is so long, looks like there is little new to see either, I think I'll give it a swerve at the cinema....surely that should't be the reaction after seeing as a trailer....to see the whole first 30 minutes of the film condensed, I feel this after so many trailers now, and the majority of the time the when I see the film my attitude doesn't change.....is it just me being old and grumpy? :-)

I'm not a fan of the earlier version, but I love Philip K Dick, so I'll probably see this.

Looks the original film with the action sequences swapped out.

This looks ok, loved the reference to the the 3 tit woman. I really want this to be good but it has big shoes to fill

No Mars or martians this time?

"Considder dat a divorce". Seriously, give me a trailer with just that and they've got my money.

I really like the look of this. I wanted to hate it, but it just seems impressive. Colour me 'interested'.

I wish i had 3 hands

Is it going to be shown in 3D?

Looks great, but not sure there is much point in paying to see it now after this trailer?

Not at all - I'm in full agreement! We have most of the film there - looks great but not significantly 'new' as you say. I was going to say 'the longer the trailer the worse the film' but no doubt loads of people will have examples of long trailered films that were stonking, but did that long trailer tell half the story?

This trailer was great until I realised the interesting Firefly-esque violin soundtrack was in fact coming from Spotify and not the movie.

(The track was The Wider Sun, by Jon Hopkins, if you want to try it. Works pretty well with the first half of the trailer, not so well after then).

Blimey, I'm surprised at all the positive comments here; that just looks... CGI. I loved the original fillum for its shlocky, brightly coloured 'eighties feel and this just, well, looks like any other humourless piece of 'action that's been released over the last ten years. A couple of nods to the original and the presence of Colin Farrell in a huge trailer doesn't make me want to see this unless a group of corrupt future-villains were to kidnap me and pin my eyelids open and download it straight into my cortex. If that were to happen, well...

Don't get your ass to Mars....

New Total Recall Is Closer To The Short Story Of Philip K Dick And New Total Recall LOOKS More COOLER AND EPIC.

Well that certainly looked a lot better than the first trailer. Now I'm interested. Never was a great fan of the first movie and don't like Colin Farrell. Maybe this will change that.

I love the original but it is cheesy and the effects look dated now, this looks fantastic, the cityscapes look so... real, possibly the best futurescape outside of Blade Runner. The plot in this trailer looks very similar to the original so I will be interested to see if the plot diverges later on and if we get an answer to the answer that we didn't get in the original - was it real?

Film looks okay if rather samey to the original movie (so not too close to the short story then) but terrible spoilery trailer.

Maybe my memory's screwed up, but I could swear I've seen this film before...

It has the same scenes as the original, even has a three titted bird in it...

At the end Colin Farrel wakes up in bed as arnie from the original, this film was a face holograph and the first time they tried to change his memory. It's a prequel.

needless remake.

Looks Bay-esque to me.Another ADHD movie. And its constant referencing of the Arnie version doesn't do it any favors either.Effects and robot design look absolutely fantastic though.

No in 3DD. lol.
