Outline revealed for Brad Bird's Tomorrowland
What is Brad Bird and Damon Lindelof's mysterious Tomorrowland actually about? Some new clues here...
With three terrific animated movies to his name (The Iron Giant, The Incredibles, Ratatouille) and the most successful film in the Mission: Impossible franchise (Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol), it's inevitable that whatever director Brad Bird is up to next, we'd be interested.
As it turns out, his next directorial project was revealed a little while back as Tomorrowland, starring George Clooney and Hugh Laurie. Set up at Disney, and working from a screenplay by Damon Lindelof, Hitfix has now got its hands on what it reckons is the logline for the movie. It notes that this may not be what the film ends up being about, but reports that this is the line that's being used to put a cast together for Tomorrowland.
"A teenage girl, a genius middle-aged man (who was kicked out of Tomorrowland) and a pre-pubescent girl robot attempt to get to and unravel what happened to Tomorrowland, which exists in an alternative dimension, in order to save Earth."
Now that sounds fun. The film is currently set for release on December 19th 2014, and Hitfix breaks things down in more detail here. Nothing official has been confirmed as of yet, of course, but we'll keep you posted as we hear more. Heck, we'll keep you posted on any movie Brad Bird gets involved with...
