Brand new trailer for Thor

Marvel is ramping up the publicity for its first film of the summer, by releasing the second trailer to Thor. The film, starring Chris Hemsworth and directed by Kenneth Branagh, remains something of a gamble, with Captain America the far more likely commercial hit.

However, that's not to say that Thor isn't set to be a sizeable movie in its own right, and this new trailer sets up the premise to the film. It also shows much of what we can expect from it, including who Thor is fighing, and it unleashes special effects. Lots of them.

Is it also timely that it's released the trailer the weekend before Natalie Portman is expected to get her Oscar? Because she's suitably prominent in this promo.

Here's the trailer, then. And Thor arrives in the UK on 27th April 2011. It hits the US the week after.
