New poster for The World's End

Poster Glen Chapman 7 May 2013 - 06:18

Pegg, Frost, Wright, a pub and some creepy people with bright blue eyes. It's the poster for The World's End.

There's obviously a high level of anticipation for Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost's concluding instalment of the Cornetto Trilogy, The World's End. The first trailer is set to arrive this week so we will get a better idea on how it's looking then, but in the meantime Edgar Wright has released the quad poster for the film on his Twitter account.

As you can see, it's got Pegg and Frost peering out through a pub sign brandishing the film's title, a sign that appears to have been damaged by a meteor. And there are some bonus creepy looking blue eyed folk giving it an Invasion Of The Body Snatchers feel.

Without further ado...

The World's End is set for release on July 19th.

The figures in the background look like the zombies from COD

I'm very fearful of over-hyping this film. The first two are such fantastic comedies, but it worries me that we'll have a TDKR situation on our hands here... Hmmm.

Take. My. Money.
(My seat will be firmly in the theater.)

Can't wait, might have to go out and get myself a mint choc-chip Cornetto now.

I just hope that there isn't some overblown sound effect after every single scene like there is in "Hot Fuzz". I have tried to rewatch it a couple of times recently but that "Schoooomp" effect, whilst funny and effective to begin with gets so irritating when you realise it is going to happen for the entire movie. I had to switch it off after twenty minutes.
"Shaun of the Dead" was great though but for me, "Spaced" will always be put on when I fancy a bit of "Pegg/Wright magic!

So excited, seems like aliens taking over minds or something of that "Invasion" category
