The Twilight Zone movie takes a step backwards, as director Matt Reeves leaves the project...

Long in development but seemingly little closer to getting to the big screen is a new big screen take on The Twilight Zone. It seemed progress was being made a while back, when Cloverfield and Let Me In director Matt Reeves signed up for the project. But Variety is now reporting that Reeves has left the film.

Scheduling problems are cited as the reasons for Reeve's departure. He's just been linked with Fox' Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes, which may be the reason behind it. That, or his new deal to develop television material for Fox. Either way, he's not the man to bring The Twilight Zone to the big screen.

So who is? Good question. Lots of people have been mentioned to do with it before, Christopher Nolan included. But Warner Bros may be heading back in the direction of the drawing board for the time being.
