John Grisham's The Racketeer movie moves forward
The movie of John Grisham's The Racketeer gains a screenwriter, and seemingly loses a director...
Once upon a time, an adaptation of a John Grisham novel was an annual occurrence on the big screen. These days, less so, with the likes of The Runaway Jury and Skipping Christmas the only books of his to make it to the cinema in the last decade.
However, the mooted adaptation of The Racketeer now appears to have gained some fresh momentum, and Fox 2000 has reportedly hired a fresh writer to take a stab at it
Frank Baldwin is the man who's got the job, although the project still has some way to go. Notwithstanding the fact that you'd be hard pushed to call The Racketeer one of Grisham's better novels, it also appears to have lost its director. Daniel Espinosa, who helmed Safe House, was attached, but now no longer is.
