The full trailer for The Purge 2, better known as The Purge: Anarchy, has landed...

The hastily turned around sequel to The Purge arrives in cinemas later this year, with writer/director James DeMonaco guiding the film once more. He's got a different lead cast, with no Ethan Hawke this time around. Instead, Frank Grillo and Michael K Williams star, with the idea remaining that for 12 hours every year, crime is allowed.

The first film took that concept - a really good one - and did very little with it in the end. We hope that the sequel, which is due in cinemas in July, doesn't make the same mistake, and that in spite of the quick turnaround, The Purge: Anarchy realises a lot more of the potential here.

Here's the new trailer for the film...

Well I like the Punisher and I like Escape from New York, so there is only one way to find out.......FIGHT!!!!!!!!!

This looks like it's way better than the first one...

This looks really interesting, I've not seen the first but sounds like it wasn't up to much.

Yeah, I bet it's going to be one of those rare occasions where the sequel is better than the original. Seems like a perfect movie to go to the cinema, unplug your brain for a while and accompany yourself with lotsa popcorn.

How long before UK introduces this to help curb house price boom

It still seems incredulous that they could take an idea better suited for a half hour Twilight Zone (so that you don't have time to question the implausibility of it all) and not only make a full-length movie, but a sequel too...

Looks like they're doing something way, WAY better with this than with the first one. With the Purge they had a great concept and just made a house invasion film with it. This one looks like they're creating a spectacle of society in this particular situation, which is more like it.
