Shane Black's next directorial project post-Iron Man 3? The Nice Guys, starring Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe...

Before he steps behind the camera for the next Predator film, Shane Black will be following up Iron Man 3 with his next directorial project, The Nice Guys. Described as a noir crime drama set in 1970s Los Angeles, the film is being backed by Warner Bros (who previously released Black's directorial debut, the excellent Kiss Kiss Bang Bang), and has Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe attached as the two leads.

And we now know when to expect the film. The Nice Guys has been earmarked for a release date of June 17th 2016, which is the same day that Pixar is releasing Finding Dory. It puts The Nice Guys in the midst of the releases of the new The Mummy film, and the Uncharted movie.

Production can't be too far away from starting. And it's good to see that Warner Bros hasn't shied away from non-franchise movies in the midst of a summer blockbuster season too. Looking forward to this one...
