The Mummy reboot lands a new director
It was Len Wiseman, but now the director of Mama moves onto The Mummy...
Universal is continuing with its plans to reboot The Mummy movies (again), even if the personnel have been shifting around a little bit. Once upon a time, this was a film that was going to be directed by Len Wiseman (Total Recall, Die Hard 4.0), but he dropped out of the new The Mummy earlier this year.
In his place? It's the director of Mama, who will be one maternally-named film away from a boxset if this one comes off. Andres Muschietti is Universal's new choice for The Mummy, and he's apparently in talks to take the film on.
The script for the movie has been put together by Jon Spaihts, and this time the film is going to be set in modern times. Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are producing the film.
