First trailer lands for The Maze Runner

Trailer Simon Brew 18 Mar 2014 - 06:53

Stuck in a maze, not able to remember who you are? The Maze Runner might just be Labyrinth mixed with Jason Bourne...

We're looking forward to this back. Put back from its original release date to September this year, The Maze Runner is the movie adaptation of James Dashner's book. It centres on a character by the name of Thomas, played by Dylan O'Brien in the movie, who wakes up in the middle of a huge maze, with a bunch of others. He has no memory of his previous life, save for the odd dream, and he has to basically do a Jason Bourne and piece back his memory, and also escape the maze itself.

As you can see from the first trailer for the film, the maze is wildly different from the finest one in film to date (that'd be Jim Henson's Labyrinth), but it still looks a swine to get out of.  Wes Ball has directed the movie, which also features Will Poulter and Patricia Clarkson. Here is that first trailer...

And as a special reward for those of you who scroll down this far, here's the poster as well...

it looks good. I might give the book ago.

Years ago I was at an event at a Literature Festival, a woman who had arranged to meet a potential backer of the book had been stood up by him. So she gave me a copy of this book and the sequel. I quite enjoyed it, although it's not brilliant, but it is quite enjoyable at any rate.

Getting a major Hunger Games vibe from this

looks intriuging ill have to get the book

Everything about this reminds me of Cube.

Meh.

Wow, I like the look of that...though I still haven't read Divergent! Bet Labrinth will right a song for this one...well Owl City wrote for The Guardians of Ga'Hoole, just saying.

I wasn't very interested in this at first. But then i saw an actor who is also in Game of Thrones and I jumped up. Than he disappeared from the frame and I went back to not being interested.

I'd never heard of this series before, got the book, they aren't bad, it's a trilogy, seem to be fine light reading, obviously aimed at teens. The books are action packed, they'll convert well to movies I think, Cube turns to zombie/apocalyptic vision later on in the series so ticks a few boxes.

Even though he's not in the trailer a whole bunch, he's one of the main characters and a fan favourite in the books, so he will be a huge part of the movie...this is me trying to talk you into giving it a chance lol, because me, I'm here for Dylan O'Brien myself lol
