Sci-fi adaptation The Maze Runner delayed until September 2014
Initially due out next February, sci-fi film The Maze Runner has been pushed back to September 2014...
We're really looking forward to The Maze Runner, director Wes Ball's adaptation of James Dashner's 2009 novel. About a group of teenagers stuck in a place called the Glade with no memory of how they got there, it boasts a great young cast (including Son Of Rambow and We're The Millers' Will Poulter) and an intriguing mystery at its centre.
Fox originally planned to have The Maze Runner in cinemas on the 14th February, but the studio has elected to push the film back for a late summer release instead. This was broken by the director himself, who revealed on Twitter that he had "good news and bad news".
"Bad news, you have to wait a bit longer," Ball wrote. "Good news, the movie and marketing can be the best it can be now."
That Fox has more time to market the film suggests that they have confidence in the adaptation, with a late summer release a more high-profile time to release a genre thriller such as this.
