Expect The Legend Of Conan to shoot later this year, as Arnold Schwarzenegger discusses the project...

With The Last Stand hitting cinemas in a few weeks, giving Arnold Schwarzenegger his first big screen lead role since Terminator 3: Rise Of The Machines, the man himself has been hitting the publicity circuit. And in a chat with AintItCool, he's given an update as to the progress of The Legend Of Conan.

Schwarzenegger revealed that Universal picked up the rights to make a new film after agreeing with hom that "the previous regime has missed the boat here". He continued, saying that the studio told him "we're going to be serious about it and make a quality film with an A-director and with A-writers and so on". Luring Schwarzenegger back, he said he was told that "we're going to take a story where Conan is at that age so it's totally believable and you're not looking like a 30-year old action guy".

The film is looking like it's going to shoot at some point later in 2013, with New Zealand the likely home for the production. When we hear more about it, we'll let you know...

The remake was so SciFi, I was dumbfounded. I mean it was CRAP. Only good actor was Ron Perlman

Also, why was Morgan Freeman the narrator? Bizarre!

Agree with twCuban, don't eff it all up again.

I didn't actually mind Jason Momoa as Conan, it should have had Alan Taylor directing and a better script.

Everything should be narrated by either Morgan Freeman or James Earl Jones, but only if Ian McKellen is unavailable.

I agree normally, it was jarring in this. ha

Dang. He looked good with long hair.

The only part that was played correctly in Conan the Hawaiian was young Conan. That kid was a bad ass.

I think Karl Urban would make a great Conan. He would just need to put a bit more muscle on. He almost looked the part in Pathfinder. I think he has the face for it too, he'd make a great Cimmerian.

You mean you didn't care for the tired old revenge plot line?

Jason Momoa was a great Conan, and they used one of the most dumbed down stories that had nothing to do with anything related to Conan, and then blamed him for the failure of the movie. They did throw in a few call backs to the original stories, but it almost seemed like they were tacked on the the crappy base script.
Schwarzenegger sucked as Conan the first time around, and I expect that he'll do even worse this time.
