The Karate Kid (2010)

Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan are to reunite for The Karate Kid 2, with The Crazies' Breck Eisner directing.

Despised in the run-up to its release, director Harald Zwart's reboot of The Karate Kid series actually turned out to be pretty decent (if pretty long). It was also hugely successful, bringing home over $340m at the worldwide box office. Very soon after, Sony Pictures revealed that it was looking for a sequel, and then... nothing.

Until now anyway. Notwithstanding the fact that the last film came out in 2010, the studio has finally got things in place for The Karate Kid 2, and has hired a director to make it. The director in question? Breck Eisner, currently best known for his surprisingly good remake of The Crazies.

In front of the camera, both Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan are set to return. No other details are known at this time, though.
