Confirmed: Tarantino's The Hateful Eight shooting in January

Quentin Tarantino's The Hateful Eight may make it into cinemas by the end of 2015, it seems...

The story on this one so far. Quentin Tarantino penned a script for another western, after he'd clearly enjoyed putting Django Unchained together. That western is called The Hateful Eight, but after the script leaked, Tarantino pulled the project, and said he'd never make it.

Following aborted legalities, the project is now firmly back on though, and it's been announced now that The Weinstein Company has picked up worldwide distribution for the film. It's backing the movie, which is now going to shoot beginning in January, with one eye on a release towards the end of 2015.

It already looks as if Kurt Russell is in the cast for a start, and Tarantino held a live reading of the script, recruiting Samuel L Jackson, Bruce Dern and Michael Madsen amongst others for that event. Whether they all turn up in the film as well remains to be seen, but you'd suspect they're odds-on favourites...
