Neil Gaiman's The Graveyard Book now looks set to be a live action movie, with Ron Howard calling the shots...

One of the most disappointing news stories of last year was Disney's decision to apply the brakes to an adaptation of Neil Gaiman's The Graveyard Book. What was particularly depressing was that the film was to have been made by Henry Selick as a stop motion project, which given the way he brought Coraline to life would have been something of a treat.

Disney had other plans though, and it's now looking to press ahead with the film as a live action project. Furthermore, The Hollywood Reporter is suggesting that Ron Howard is now being lined up to direct the film.

As things stand, it's being said that Howard is in negotiations to take on the project (he had, once upon a time, been expecting to tackle Stephen King's The Dark Tower, but that looks like it's permanently hit the buffers). When that's confirmed, and when we get any idea of timelines, we'll let you know. We're also keenly looking out for just what Henry Selick has planned next too...
