First (proper) trailer lands for The Expendables 3

Trailer Simon Brew 19 Dec 2013 - 16:17

Stallone, The Statham, Jet Li, Snipes and more line up for The Expendables 3. Here's the first teaser trailer...

The Expendables 3 is now in post-production, ahead of its release in August next year, and the first teaser trailer for the movie has arrived. There's not a lot to see here, with the main thrust of it being a succession of names of people who are in it. One of those names belongs to The Statham, so we're okay with that.

Newcomers? Wesley Snipes, Antonio Banderas, Harrison Ford and Mel Gibson have joined up. Sylvester Stallone, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren and Arnold Schwarzenegger lead the returnees. There's no Bruce Willis this time.

Perhaps the best signing may yet be that of Patrick Hughes, who's directing this time, though. Here's the trailer...

Ronda Rousey puts me off.

OS MERCENARIOS! Scorchio!

I thought the first two were rubbish but I am genuinely willing this to be good.

This is fake.

Someone call Alexander O'Neal because that's a fake, baby, you can't conceal it. Know how I know? 'Cos I can feel it.

And also because that Harrison Ford shot is from Ender's Game.

Come on guys, this is fake

The Catching Fire bit is a dead give away

FFS. Reading the comments below makes me wonder about some people on here! Like anything fake would ever be allowed on the internet!!!!!!!!

It's not as if they need to show anything more than the names. Or anything. At this point, after the first two, I'd go just because of the title and The Statham.

Heh! "Colonel Bogie" will always be a classic. :)

How long before some executive with a desk tells the marketing department to call it The Exp3ndables to get down with the kids?

you've just gotta love how these films do not take them selves seriously what so ever! a true popcorn I don't wanna think experience - love it

You know, another actor came to mind just this second who would be an excellent villain for The Expendables... Michael Mando who did the voice for Vaas in Far Cry 3.

so with all these action stars it must be clear they are taking on George lucus right?

All I need now is an ExpendaBelles update!

I struggle to think of a series of films that has so consistently failed to live up to its possibilities (except maybe the Resident Evil films) and I still keep falling for it. They really are the action movie equivalent of either those awful [-----] Movie films or watching the red carpet before the Oscars - the only enjoyment is spotting the references and famous faces, because the story and film itself do very little. True, the second one was a bit better than the first but was I the only one confused by Chuck Norris just turning up as and when by complete chance or by Arnie somehow knowing just where to drive his tank (and thereby depriving Dolph of what might, in two films now, have been the only moment when he could have proven of value to the team)? It's just so frustrating, as I love what Stallone is trying to do here and like the way he's roping in all the great action stars of the 80s and 90s and adding some new blood to the mix - the problem is these films are just not equal to the sum of their parts.
