Luke Evans confirms The Crow plot will be "mostly the same"
The new take on The Crow will star Luke Evans, and will stay quite close to the narrative of the earlier movie...
Over the weekend, the news dropped that a lead had finally been found for the long-in-gestation reboot of The Crow series of movies. Bradley Cooper was linked for some time, and then Tom Hiddleston looked like he was in pole position. But the job has gone to Luke Evans, soon to hit cinema screens in Fast & Furious 6.
Evans, who is also starring in Universal's upcoming Dracula origin story, has been chatting to Superhero Hype, and he's given an update on The Crow, and the direction the project will be heading. And if you're thinking this is a full-on reimagining we're going to get, you might well be wrong.
"The Crow was a very poignant film from my childhood, which I remember vividly", he said. "The soundtrack, also. It was such a solid performance that Brandon Lee gave. It was a very tragic end for somebody that probably would have had a very promising career".
He continued: "I'm Eric Draven. I'm the same character. Obviously, he's been refreshed and brought up to date. We're reimagining it to a certain extent, but the story and the plot is mostly the same", he confirmed.
Full production isn't going to start on the project until next year, and the film will be directed by F Javier Gutierrez (Before The Fall). More news on it as we get it...
