Paul Bettany on playing The Vision in The Avengers 2
Paul Bettany has been chatting about his casting in Joss Whedon's Avengers: Age of Ultron
Paul Bettany has been on the publicity trail for the incoming Wally Pfister movie Transcendence. As you might expect though, questions have been turning towards his casting as The Vision in Joss Whedon's Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Whilst on Jimmy Kimmel's show in the US, Bettany was thus asked about his work in The Avengers sequel. "Oh I can do all sorts of things, but I'm not allowed to really talk about them and what we're going to do because there might be a Marvel agent in the room who will actually wrestle me to the ground and fire me", he said. "It's very exciting for me, but everything is a double edged sword, right? Because I was playing J.A.R.V.I.S. for years and my job was i would turn up at a recording studio for 45 minutes, do all my stuff, and then they would give ma huge bag of cash and then I'd go home. Now it turns out they've found me out and they want me to actually do something!"
As he mentioned, he's no stranger to Marvel having provided the voice to Iron Man's virtual assistant across several movies. It doesn't sound like he's too bothered about having to do a bit more work for his bag of cash this time, though.
Avengers: Age Of Ultron is released next summer.
