Elizabeth Olsen cast as Scarlet Witch in Avengers 2
Joss Whedon's Avengers: Age Of Ultron has found its Scarlet Witch - according to Samuel L Jackson...
A role that was for a time thought to be going to Saoirse Ronan, who dropped out of contention presumably due to her strong links to Star Wars Episode VII, the Scarlet Witch in Joss Whedon's Avengers: Age Of Ultron now appears to have a new name attached. And if Samuel L. Jackson is to be believed it's a done deal.
In a recent interview, Jackson seems to have confirmed that Elizabeth Olsen will be playing Wanda Maximoff, Scarlet Witch, in Avengers: Age of Ultron. He said that "I don't think we begin shooting before March next year. I know we're shooting in London, that James Spader is Ultron and going to be the bad guy, and that we added Ms Olsen, but I don't know what she's doing, if she's on the inside or the outside, I haven't seen a script".
Whilst this certainly seems to strongly indicate that Olsen has the role it's worth waiting to hear official word before we get our hopes up. Her onscreen brother, Quicksilver, is thought to be played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, but that rumour has been around for a while now. So again, best to wait for official word.
