New faces up for Harry Osborn in The Amazing Spider-Man 2

The hunt for a new Harry Osborn continues, as more actors are linked with The Amazing Spider-Man 2...

The casting process for the role of Harry Osborn in the sequel to The Amazing Spider-Man is ongoing, as director Marc Webb looks to find the right face for the role. Previously, a bunch of young actors have been linked with playing Osborn, but the latest names to be linked with the part are Sam Claflin (who's currently shooting The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, and is committed to the Hunger Games movies following that), Eddie Redmayne, Boyd Holbrook and Douglas Booth.

Previously linked with the part were Alden Ehrenreich, Brady Corbet and Chronicle's Dane DeHaan, but they're now apparently no longer in the running.

Thus far, as well as the returning Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, Shailene Woodley has joined the cast of the new Spider-Man movie. She's set to play MJ. Once the identity of the new Harry Osborn is known, we'll bring you the news...

I was rooting for Dane DeHaan here. I worry about Claflin because he's not made much impact in his high profile movies so far, but I'd put that more down to bad scripts and under written characters than his performances.

Im sorry but why are we getting harry osbourne again! It would be nice if they had rebooted the franchise that they would steer clear of the enemies Sam Rami used. I mean hell there are a millon bad guys spidey comes up too and green goblin being one of the sucky ones in my opinion

Thanks for the news, Simon, but casting Harry won't be too difficult, especially after they settled for Garfield and his emo Spiderman. I missed the first movie when it was in theaters, but I did get a chance to watch it Friday night. I was in my office at DISH surfing online, when I saw that The Amazing Spider-Man was available to rent to my DISH Hopper DVR. I ordered it and it was ready to watch by the time I got home. While I think this film was an improvement over the previous movies, but I still wasn't very impressed. The whole thing felt rushed so that Sony could keep the rights to Spiderman away from Marvel, and in the end that's all this sequel will accomplish.
