Two new The Amazing Spider-Man promo videos

Rhys Ifans' Dr Curt Connors has been making videos. And he wants to share them with you...

We're warming to the so-called viral video approach to promoting a movie. Given that it tends not involve footage from the film itself, thus keeping the spoiler risk down, it doesn't seem like a bad idea. Prometheus, for all the criticism aimed at its marketing campaign, has led the way here, not least the promo video it released of Michael Fassbender.

Anyway, now The Amazing Spider-Man is getting in on the act, with this pair of new promos featuring Rhys Ifans as Dr Curt Connors, pre-Lizard. Take a look and see what you think...

The Amazing Spider-Man arrives in July.

I'm a life long spider-man fan with a stack of long boxes full of ASMs.... But I have no hard on for this movie... I hope to god I'm wrong about this one... On the bright side if this flops then maybe a cash strapped Sony will sell the rights back to marvel....?

Has someone in marketing just decided they enjoyed the Prometheus promos?

I'd love to see what Mavel studio would do if they got all their rights back

That was sufficiently creepy, I think! From the outset, I've thought this reboot to be a bad idea. But as time has passed and I've seen the various trailers etc., I pretty intrigued and have much higher hopes for this project. But even if it got crap reviews, I'd still go to see it -- it is Spider-man, after all.

I like these sort of teaser mini movies, that aren't trailers and don't include footage. I'm also more likely to be curious to watch them than endless variant trailers which are either/both repetetive, or have terrible spoilers/give too much.  its surprising how effective these "virals" really are.  i hope whoever thought the concept up, as well as the people who design them get fat bonuses.

A bit over acted , i think.
