Alan Taylor in talks to direct the Terminator reboot
Game Of Thrones and Thor: The Dark World director Alan Taylor is in talks to direct the first of the new standalone Terminator trilogy...
Alan Taylor's is a director whose profile is on the rise, with stellar work on Game of Thrones under his belt and Thor: The Dark World nearing release. After that, he's in need of a new project and it would seem that Paramount, Skydance and Annapura Pictures have something in mind for him.
It's being reported that Taylor is in talks to direct the Terminator reboot for them, which would be quite the challenge. Not only would he be facing the inevitable scepticism that surrounds reboots but he'll also be in charge of one of the larger franchises in cinema.
The script is to be written by Laeta Kalogridis (Avatar and Shutter Island) and Patrick Lussier (Drive Angry) with a release planned for June 26th 2015. Taylor would take over a director's chair previously occupied by Justin Lin, who left the project to go and make Fast & Furious 6 instead. Arnold Schwarzenegger will be returning this time.
