The next big screen outing for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles hits a delay...

It's been a busy few months for fans of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. There's a new TV show coming, and then there's the small matter of the new big screen outing for them, too, which is being developed by Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes company.

Battle: Los Angeles and Wrath Of The Titans director Jonathan Liebesman has been confirmed to direct, and the film was set to arrive in cinemas at the end of 2013 (with, wonderfully, a Valentine's Day 2014 release in Britain). Well, that plan is sadly no more.

The start date on the new movie has now been pushed back by ten weeks, it's been revealed, and that's shifted the American release date for the film back to May 16th 2014. We'd imagine the UK release date will move to that date too, or very near to it.

The film is still very much pressing ahead, though, and we'll keep you posted as we get more news on it.
