Lawrence Kasdan chats about the planned Han Solo Star Wars prequel movie...

One of the many Star Wars movies currently in the works is a prequel film that focuses on a younger Han Solo. The film is being directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (the Jump Street movies, The LEGO Movie), and is currently scheduled for release on May 25th 2018.

Screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan has been nattering about the movie, that he's working on with his son, Jon. Specifically, about when the Solo origins film will be set. The answer? A decade or so before Star Wars: A New Hope, it seems.

"It will not be here’s where he was born and this is how he was raised. I think what it will be is, what was he like 10 years earlier, maybe a little earlier, you’ll get a glimpse", Kasdan said.

"But Kurosawa once said the heroes are the ones that are still changing and the villains are locked and petrified into what they are. And Harrison embodies in Force Awakens someone who is still not settled on who he is," Kasdan said.

We'll have more on the Han Solo origins movie as we hear it...
