Carrie Fisher's daughter is taking on a role in JJ Abrams' Star Wars movie - and there's now a suggestion as to what her role is...

News broke over the weekend of a fresh piece of casting news for JJ Abrams' now shooting Star Wars: Episode VII. Specifically, that Billie Lourd was taking on a role in the movie.

Lourd is the daughter of Carrie Fisher, who is reprising her role as Leia in the new film. And a fresh report now suggests the role that Lourd may be taking on in the new Star Wars. As always, don't read on if you don't want to know (although we can't imagine this counts as much of a spoiler, in truth). We'll pop a picture in here, just to be on the safe side...

Still here? Right then. Lourd is rumoured to be playing a younger version of Princess Leia in the new film, And while she has little or no professional acting experience, she does have a similarity to her mother. Don't be surprised, therefore, if she pops up quickly in a flashback or two.

Filming continues on Star Wars: Episode VII at the moment. It's due for release in December 2015.

I keep reading that she looks like her mother. Am I the only one that doesn't see the resemblance?

Give her a couple of years and lots of donuts.
Or maybe we'll need to see her in a chainmail bikini first.

She doesn't need doughnuts, just a couple of Danish pastries strapped to her head.

So Carrie was like 20 or something when she made Star Wars. Her daughter is like 20 or something while she's making Star Wars....

Yeah, that makes sense to have her play the same age as her mother was in the original film.....what a load of crap!!

Don't wet yourself mate,I can't imagine it's gunna be that obvious that they're the same age

Thanks, but I'm not wetting myself.
And what you've just said makes no sense

Well done.

Has someone been racking up lines of cocaine on that clapboard? I know this is a story concerning Carrie Fisher.... oh Carrie, not again....

Flashbacks in Star Wars? Wasn't that the point of the prequels?
