12 Years A Slave's Lupita Nyong'o is being linked with a leading role in JJ Abrams' Star Wars movie...

It's been quite a month for young actress Lupita Nyong'o. Just a few weeks ago, she picked up a Best Actress In A Supporting Role Oscar for her extraordinary work in Steve McQueen's 12 Years A Slave. And now? She's been heavily linked with a lead role in JJ Abrams' upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII.

The exact role, as you might expect, is far from known. The Hollywood Reporter argues that "one possibility is that of a descendent of Obi-Wan Kenobi", also noting that "that is separate from the search for two roles, female and male, for characters in their 20s".

Filming doesn't begin for a little while yet on Star Wars: Episode VII, and JJ Abrams and his team are still deep in the casting process. When we do finally hear something concrete, we will pass the news your way...

"Be mindful of your thoughts Anikin, they betray you. You've made a commitment to the Jedi order...a commitment not easily broken." Yeah that guy is going to have loads of descendants knocking about. Even if he did get lonely on those cold Tatooine nights, those party hermits!!!

If they'd known she was going to win a gong they may have given her more than two lines in Non-Stop. Liked the Grace Jones View to a Kill hair-do though.

great actress and hope she is in it, however not as obi wans decendant as I personally think obi took his jedi vows serieously

Her, Danai Gurira, Sophie Okinedo, and who plays Storm? Gothika.

Adopted descendent, right?

I mean, they'd better get in quick with an explanation after the Johnny Storm/Sue Storm interracial-blood-relatives arguments.

I think the HR maybe talking out of their arses when they say stuff like that. Either way, lucky bugger :-)
