The screenplay for Star Wars: Episode VII is done, and at least one casting rumour for the film has some substance to it...

With the plethora of rumours surrounding Star Wars: Episode VII continuing, it makes it something of a change when something about the film is in any way concrete and confirmed. Thus, whilst director and co-writer JJ Abrams hasn't been giving much away, he has been briefly chatting about the new movie, and the current state of it.

Talking to The Wrap, Abrams confirmed that the screenplay for Star Wars: Episode VII was now in place. "We're working really hard and we've got our script and we're in deep prep", he confirmed.

He also confirmed that Breaking Bad's Jesse Plemons is one of the actors that he has met with regarding a role in the film. However, he added that "it's not often that I read about actors that I'm going to be meeting... that I get to read articles about actors who are going to come in. And so I get to see someone and say 'oh, I read that I'm going to see you'... it's usually agents talking to people about what's happening. It's a lot of noise".

As ever, his cards are being played close to his chest, but as we find out more, we'll let you know...

I have no clue what JJ's quote means. The dots editing his comments make him seem incoherent. Hope the script is more articulate! ;)

Haha exactly what I was thinking

I don't have much hope for this film considering the train wreck that "into Darkness" was. After doing a decent job with the 2009 film, Abrams blew it with the follow up. I expect to see more of the same here. Keeping my expectations really low with the faint hope that I might be wrong.

It's very simple, don't go and watch it. In life you can be an optimist or a pessimist, I'm always an optimist.

Star Wars: Episode VII Script:
Once upon a time in a lens fla... errr galaxy far far away there were massive.... lens flares. These lens flares were so beautiful and dazzling that one could easily get distracted....

He confirms the script is done.

It took him 10 minutes while he was sitting on his toilet with a notepad trying to come up with new ideas, when the sun through his bathroom window reflected off his polished marble floor and he thought -

"Nah lets just recycle bits of the classic films like I did in Startrek into Darkness and dazzle everyone with lens flare in the hope that they dont notice..."

Yes indeed. After what happened with Phantom Menace I am not getting my hopes up or going to bother. I will just wait for the Bluray, or Desolation of Smaug alike screener.

I bet there are not even half as many people dressed up as various characters and camping outside the cinema six months before hand this time round....

I loved Into Darkness... I can't wait for this! :D
