Saoirse Ronan confirms Star Wars audition, new rumour lands
More Star Wars: Episode VII audition news, as Saoirse Ronan confirms hers, and another name is thrown into the mix...
Count this as one rumour that was on the money. A week or two back, Latino Review reported that Saoirse Ronan had auditioned for a role in Star Wars: Episode VII, news that landed not long after it was revealed that she'd apparently turned down a big role in Joss Whedon's Avengers: Age Of Ultron.
Ronan has now confirmed to Sky News - while promoting her new film, How I Live Now - that she did indeed audition for the new Star Wars film, adding that "so has everyone". When pressed for more details on whether she had auditioned for the role of Princess Leia's daughter, as had been rumoured, Ronan added that the Star Wars people would "chop off her heard with a light saber" were she to spill any more details.
Confirmation of one rumour arrives on the day that Latino Review has another too. The site is now reporting that Sullivan Stapleton, to be seen in next year's 300: Rise Of An Empire, has also gone along for an audition. There's no clue as to what role he's auditioned for, though. Bet you a quid it's not Princess Leia's daughter.
