Might Star Wars: Episode VII be heading for December 2015?
Could JJ Abrams' Star Wars film escape the summer crush and not land until December 2015?
We're firmly in rumour territory here, but in this case, it's a rumour that makes some sense. We've talked before on the site about the fact that 2015 is more jam-packed with blockbuster movies than ever before, and that even the biggest films are likely to have a week or two at best to make their money before the next juggernaut comes steaming around the corner.
Of course, there's no bigger film, on paper at least, than Star Wars: Episode VII, and it had been assumed that the new movie, being directed by JJ Abrams, would land in the middle of the summer. But a new rumour suggests that may not be the case.
Citing "multiple sources", BadAssDigest has suggested that Star Wars: Episode VII is actually being targeted for December 15th 2015, away from the summer crush. The later than expected release date would explain why news has been thin on the ground, but then it might just be the case that Disney is holding everything back for one big announcement (which is likely).
As and when we hear more on the film, we'll let you know. With production set to start next year, an announcement can't be too far away...
