John Williams, ILM, the UK and Carrie Fisher all feature in our latest Star Wars news round up...

Were we betting people, we'd be tempted to find a pound or two to suggest that May the 4th might be the day when Disney/Lucasfilm chooses to formally release some new details about the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII. It'd certainly help JJ Abrams out - he's presumably becoming an expert at batting off questions as he undertakes the publicity tour for his incoming film Star Trek Into Darkness, which starts its global roll-out next week.

A few new Star Wars nuggets have come to light in the meantime though, and we've rounded them up here.

Firstly, over at TrekMovie, the fine folks there (and it really is a terrific site if you want to follow Star Trek news) have reported from the Berlin press conference for Star Trek Into Darkness, where Abrams revealed that he expects John Williams to return to scoring duties for the next Star Wars film. So no room. at least on this one, for the excellent Michael Giacchino (although Giacchino, reports the site, supports Abrams' decision).

Next? The Wrap is reporting that ILM is apparently looking to set up at London office, to handle the bulk of the effects work on Star Wars: Episode VII. Apparently scouting potential sites in the Docklands area of London, the thinking here is that it'd allow Lucasfilm to take advantage of tax breaks, and thus save a few pounds when the bulk of the effects work needs doing (from 2014 onwards).

Finally, at least for now, Carrie Fisher has been asked about Star Wars once again, and also once again, she's been happy to answer. She once again confirmed her involvement in the new movie, as reported by the Calgary Herald. "I like being bought by Disney, because they never wanted to buy me before", she said. "I’m glad they are doing a new movie because they are sending a trainer to my house so I can get in really good shape. So I’m really eating a lot of sugar in advance, as you can see. By the time I really get down to it I will have eaten everything".

It's a fun piece, where she also talks about screen kissing and Harrison Ford, and you can read it in full here.

Star Wars: Episode VII will be released in the summer of 2015
