Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci writing next Star Trek
Following their work on Star Trek and Star Trek Into Darkness, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are returning for the next film...
Following original reports that suggested Paramount Pictures was looking to new writers to pen the next Star Trek outing, it's now been revealed that Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are being re-recruited to pen the next big screen Trek adventure.
The Hollywood Reporter says that the pair are in negotiations to write the film. However, it seems as if Damon Lindelof - their co-writer on Star Trek Into Darkness - won't be on board this time around. The same story also says that JJ Abrams is likely to be a producer on the next film. It seems increasingly clear that he won't direct, and names of potential candidates to replace him are already being put forward.
Whilst not confirmed, the plan still appears to be to get the next Star Trek film in cinemas for the 50th anniversary of Trek in 2016.
