New international trailers for JJ Abrams' Star Trek Into Darkness land, showcasing new footage as they do so...

With just two months to go before the wraps are fully taken off JJ Abrams' eagerly-awaited Star Trek Into Darkness, Paramount Pictures has revealed a brand new international trailer for the film. What this basically means is that the promo mixes in a good chunk of what we've seen before, with some new material.

The film is now scheduled for release in the UK on May 9th. And here's the new UK trailer...

Looks brilliant when I seen the collection of red Shirts marching i just thought 'well that's a massacre waiting to happen'

Whatever your take on Abrams take on Trek (personally I'm a fan) I don't think there's any doubt that Cumberbatch is going to OWN the screen in this movie.

Why did we need the random shot of Alice Eve in her underwear?

because it makes the world a better place

Download Quicktime? This isn't 1999.
Also, the line "I'm better than you at everything" belongs in a school playground

Why are you using the world's worst video players? Just embed it from YouTube. Geez.

It’s a Kirk movie. A damaged Enterprise and a scantily clad woman are pretty much requisites.

You guys do know that George Takei (yes, that George takei) has selected this wonderful and brilliant site on Facebook to link to for advertising the Star Trek Trailer? Well played DOG, well played indeed!

Thank you for assuming I want to download Quicktime. Can't you put it in a more universally used format? Or offer an option? (.wma is very common, even some Apples will agree to play them!)

To be fair, the original screenplay said "You dummyheads make me angry! You go die in the face now!"

Personally I hate long movie trailers with lots of clips, I want to experience the movie in it's entirety and not feel as if I've already seen it from watching the promos.

Quicktime only? Really? No thanks. I'll youtube it.

Is it just me or does anyone else feel a lack of boldly going where no man has gone before here? Where are the aliens? Where is the new life and new civilizations? This is just Diehard in space. : /

Quicktime? Seriously?!?

so if you are an extra and wardrobe gives you a red shirt, do you just go "oh crap, i get killed today"

And did you notice the name of the Shuttle? Yep, Takei! :)

Really loving all of these whiny comments about Quicktime. Keep 'em coming, whiners!

OMG! Great Trailer!!! My mouth was opened when the enterprise crashed into the city.

can we not have it in any other format other than Apple? I hate Apple software and avoid it every chance I get. I had quicktime for a long time, but go rid of it as it only worked 1 out of every 5 times, and demanded that I constantly use it as my primary video media player. Please have a Youtube, hulu, or .wma version.

Ok, so 3 or 4 movies ago, they crash a Constitution Class disk ship into a planet. So, now they have to do it in every movie? Come up with something new, getting old.

What's this Quicktime poo-poo?

any reason why the PLAY link is dead? I have quicktime. Not sure

The trailer is hosted by Apple. It's not been released to anybody else yet...

hey, how about you upload a version for those of us that DON'T worship at the Altar of Apple?

Yeah, I can't wait it either. Quicktime, forget it. I guess I will watch it somewhere else.

Won't let me watch. I downloaded QuickTime and updated it just for this, as I'm not a fan of QT. If I click any of the links to watch it, it tells me to download quicktime, and if I click the link to download the trailer instead of streaming, it just loops me back to the apple trailers front page. Guess I'll be waiting for a non Apple version of this...

The trailers don't play I guess I'll just download the movie when I can.

If you're referring to Star Trek Generations (the one with Kirk and Picard) that was the saucer section of a Galaxy Class, not a Constitution Class

If you're talking about Star Trek III: The Search for Spock, the entire ship crashed into the Genesis Planet, with very little of the saucer section remaining.

You mean like in First Contact where everyone boldly went to Earth?

The above did not work for me ...found clip on YouTube

Thank you JJ Abrams for reminding me that Flash player isn't the most worthless thing out there. I echo the statements below when I say, "QT should have died years ago" Anyone else have to watch the whole trailer with an obnoxious player control bar in the middle of the picture?

Quicktime?! What is this, 2002?

NOT KHAN.

Quicktime needs to die.

True, the only question is how will the Cumberbatch slaughter them...

Well, whatever the saucer ships class, I just finished rewatching DS9 and am rewatching Voyager and I swear there are at least one or two episodes in each that also have a saucer crash. I suppose if something is epic, keep doing over and over and over and over and....

There is no "Saucer class" ... if you were watching them you'd know that. The most Starfleet ships have a Primary hull (usually refereed to the saucer section) and a Secondary hull. (also known as the Engineering section)

The Intrepid Class Voyager can't separate, although it does have the ability to land on a planet and then take off.

You're missing the forest for the trees. My comment isn't about splitting hairs on the class of the ship. It's about the over abundance of over dramatic saucer sections or saucered ships that do not unsection sliding into a planet. IMHO quite a bit overdone.

If you're a real fan you'd know that this is a nod to the second episode with Kirk where a starfleet officer goes rogue. They are doing something combonng the new storyline with the old series storyline. Brilliant in my option.

Brilliant in my option.

I hardly call twice in 11 (or three times in 12 if you consider this trailer) movies an "over abundance"

These are Star Trek fans. Obsessive and anal? Imagine that. Add in some Star Wars related crossover and you have people who are still holding a grudge over the nonsense with Sorenson from when the Phantom Menace trailers were brand new.

...kind of how the Enterprise is the only ship available to save they day and how they always seem to be saving Earth.

That ship sailed a long time ago...

plays fine.

haha dummy...move your mouse and it disappears

Shuttle is called Takay - which is the phonetic spelling of Takei...

his acting will be amazing, as it always is... and will drive most women watching it to a long, slow, blissfully excruciating death, is how I describe it... this man in this role is going to be unbearable torture....

You know what? I'm as hetero as it gets... but still, watching Sherlock, then this.. I dunno... The man is awesome lol

All blood, no brain. Boo.

What is this whining about QuickTime?
It is industry standard for timeline-based video editing software applications, and kicks the ass of WMV playback. Why do think all major trailers are shown in QuickTime?

I have been a mac user since 1987, and run a film production company and I can only guess that the whiners are on PC's. I watched and download the 1080 trailer instantly using BT infinity, do yourself a favour PC users and download the free QuickTime app for your PC. I'm sick of hearing Apple bashers refusing to use apple based software or hardware just to be cool or rebellious ...grow up stop whining and embrace the technology.

Btw QT works like a dream on my daughters £500.00 PC laptop which is 4 yeras old!

Star Trek is originally about the Enterprise and its crew... That the basis for Star Trek!

That not the enterprise hitting the city-and it's crashing into Alcatraz!

Yeah... move you mouse of the video area - dum dum!

Thumbs up if George Tekei brought you here... Unfortunately, I'm 99.9% sure that the shuttle at 0:55 is actually named TAKAYAMA (perhaps a nod to yeoman Takayama from TOS). Even so, the piping obscuring it's name, leaving just TAKAY visible may be a phonetic nod to George as well. Even if it's just happenstance, then perhaps it's a bit more awesome.

I'm giving you all an up-vote, but I'm also sorry that I'm going to have to burst your bubble. I'm almost certain the name of the shuttle is actually TAKAYAMA... The piping in the foreground obscures the last part (but you can just make out the last "A" in the gap). This is actually a nod to TOS lore, there was an Yeoman named Takayama in a couple episodes, so perhaps the name belongs to some renowned Starfleet or United Federation of Planet's personage. That being said, the spelling of Takay does match the phonetic pronunciation of Takei, so who knows... It may be intentional, but I'd almost find it even more awesome if it's just a lucky coincidence.

Wow, it's set on earth, why call it Star Trek, it kinda odd because Star Trek was never set on earth unless they did time travel. Looks like a James Bond Villian kinda thing.

That's true, I thought I'd see vast nebula and amazing planets, god even doctor who series 7 had more space travel

That's different it was about time travel, Star Trek sould only be set on earth in a time travel setting but not in the future setting.

I like to worship at the Alter of Apple

Section 31.

I take it you're going with the John Harrison = movie version of Gary Mitchell theory? I'm not getting my hopes up but it WOULD be a good idea - unlike Khan, they never really had the chance to do Mitchell justice as a villain.

Cumberbatch as Khan? The mighty Khan? Er...no. Wrong. Way wrong casting. Way, way wrong. Looks like it's already spoiled. Yuk.

Actually, I did move the mouse off of the screen, the player control bar remains regardless. I found the trailers re-posted in actual 21st century compatible formats and was able to view them without a hitch.
