Snow White And The Huntsman

Frank Darabont looks like he's going to be directing Snow White And The Huntsman follow-up, The Huntsman.

UPDATE: Frank Darabont is now apparently in talks to direct Snow White And The Huntsman 2. It looks like Universal is now going with The Huntsman spin-off idea that was originally mooted a year or two back. Our original story follows...

Well, this one's a film that disappeared off the radar for a while. The sequel to Snow White And The Huntsman looked likely off the back of the original film doing reasonable box office, but things have been quiet surrounding the project for some time now. It's long been known that original director Rupert Sanders wouldn't be back for it, but both Chris Hemsworth and Kristen Stewart are set to return.

But who will be directing? Well, we're glad you asked.

The apparently shortlist for Snow White And The Huntsman 2 is actually quite an interesting one. Frank Darabont is on it for a start, and if he took the job on it'd a) be a surprise and b) be his first feature since 2007's The Mist.

Elsewhere? Gavin O'Connor - best known for Warrior - is a candidate, as is Andy Muschietti. Muschietti recently walked away from Universal's reboot of The Mummy, having previously directed Mama.

There's no target release date that we know of yet, but Universal wouldn't be able to get Snow White And The Huntsman 2 into cinemas until 2016 at the earliest. More on this one as we get it...

Can't wait to see this movie getting started...Kristen'll again rock this film.....

Would be great to see Darabont do it, if his happy-fun-time suing TWD doesn't get in the way.

I would love it if Darabont did it. I need more Darabont feature films in my life.

so a new director is going to do Kristen Stewart

Please.. Please don't make another Snow White and The Huntsman, it was bad enough suffering through the first. Too late now I guess, it might be able to work if they scrap all the characters from the first movie, do a time skip and start fresh, with a decent director.

Was I the only one rooting for Charlize Theron in the first movie?

Didn't get around to seeing the first one. What's the verdict from my fellow geeks?

nudge nudge, wink wink, say no more.

man it's depressing seeing Frank Darabont taking a director hire gig to a sequel to such a crummy film. The director of Shawshank and The Mist should not be lowered to this. All that drama surrounding the Walking Dead must seriously damaged his reputation and clout

One suggestion : Kill Kristen Stewart and resurrect Charlize Theron ! ^^
