Screenwriter confirmed for Shazam movie, further details
A few more details have emerged about the adaptation of DC Comics' Shazam, starring Dwayne Johnson...
Late yesterday, Dwayne Johnson confirmed via his Twitter feed that he's definitely attached to the upcoming DC Comics adaptation Shazam, and that he would be taking on the role of Black Adam in the movie.
Now, one or two more details have popped up.
Firstly, Warner Bros will be developing the movie through its New Line Cinema subsidiary, and that puts it under the watch of New Line chief Toby Emmerich. "It feels to me like Shazam will have a tone unto itself", he told EW. "It's a DC comic, but it's not a Justice League character, and it's not a Marvel comic. The tone and the feeling of the movie will be difference from the other range of comic book movies", he added.
It's also been revealed that Darren Lemke, who penned Turbo and Jack The Giant Slayer, will be taking a stab at the script for Shazam.
Toby Emmerich teased that the film "will have a sense of fun and a sense of humour. But the stakes have to be real".
